All That Remains
Setting out to explore some of the territory between object and memory, the piece uses a delicate and sometimes disorientating combination of video, sculpture, found objects and sound.
The relics of a long-forgotten music hall dancer are housed in a small glass case, including her photo album in which she magically comes to life. In a larger case that is part cabinet of curiosities and part dolls house, a central spinal column links a strange collection of rooms, animated by the dolls that inhabit them.
These fragments combine to form a body of histories and memories that is both enchanting and eerie.
